Author Shelby Egnew is a passionate new voice in the world of poetry and storytelling. Living and working in Nashville, Tennessee, she blends her creative spirit with her professional life as a preschool, dance, and theatre teacher.
A 2020 graduate with a BS in Early Childhood/Special Education, Shelby has always found joy in helping others grow—both in the classroom and through the arts. Her love for writing deepened during her academic years, where she studied the craft and discovered the emotional power of the spoken word.
In 2022, she began writing poetry and books of her own, drawing inspiration from personal experiences, everyday moments, and the emotions that often go unspoken. Shelby’s work offers a heartfelt look into the human experience filled with honesty, hope, and connection.
